Filipino Pincher
Step up with left, left outside cut block into an eye jab, Left Kali Scoop, Right Elbow, Rotary hold, Right Knee, Rotary Throw.
- Note: This technique used to be called Chinese Pincher but had been changed so much by the influence of Filipino Martial Arts that nearly all of the Chinese influence on the technique was lost. Thus, the name changed.

Rocker

Turn to face 3-o-clock to dissipate the push while capturing their arm with your right hand, pinning it to your chest. Simultaneously use a left upercut elbow to break their arm. End with a police armbar into a belly lock (Hara Gatame), Left Yes elbow, Left upwards claw, Left 12 to 6 elbow to the back of the head or spine.

- You are executing Wraparound A (Overhooking and barsong the arm that is grabbing you). But then your opponent punches you. Right parry the punch and pass their left wrist to your left hand (your left hand should still be overhooking their right. Now both of their arms are trapped by your left arm. Then with your right hand: Eye Jab, Tiger's mouth to the throat, elbow the head. Right hooks the right side of their neck and pulls them down into a right knee.
- Historical Note: the tapping sequence in the B Variation is often called the VAL trap. VAL is the nickname of Michael Valenti who created the trappings sequence.

Reversing Grasp
Vs same side wrist grab. Huen Sao your right hand counterclockwise breaking their grip by dropping a Wu Sao on top of their wrist. Right eye jab.

Vs right to right wrist Grab. Re-grab with a clockwise huen sao. Step right foot back as you do a left palm Heel hook to their elbow followed by a back fist to their stomach. Police armbar takedown with the left hinge step. But they don't go down. Turn back into them with a left pac sao and a right elbow. Right grabs the back of their head and you left kali scoop into a right knee.

Right handshake, Left grab their right elbow, pull them into a thrusting knee (this will make their back turn to you), wrap their arm around their neck (Standing Gift Wrap), Left grab their shoulder, Walk them out of the place.
Vs Two Handed Belt Grab

Vs two handed belt grab. Cover with your left hand as you execute a right eye jab. Double fook sao at their wrist to remove them from your belt, right Step to 2:00 as you reach your right hand around their waist as you hit a left knee, finish with a hip toss.

Assuming they are grabbing the Hammer Lock there right to your left. Right step back and regrab, right reverse elbow, right hooks their arm, turn clockwise and use a left upward elbow to break their elbow.

- X in front of your chin like a Japanese Strangle Hold, then turn away from the elbow to get up.
- The Choke gets under your chin. Pluck like Japanese Strangle Hold B, then turn and stand away from the elbow putting you in a headlock. Finish Headlock A: Left hammer fist to kidney, Left hand grab eye sockets (or under the nose) pulling head back, Right palm strike to face

Kali step left with a split sector using a right claw to the eyes for the strike. Outside reap.
Knife vs Knife
Defang the Snake
The opponent swings their knife at angle 1,2, then 5. You Kali step back on each swing, cutting their wrist with our knife. Angles 1 and 2 are matched angle for angle. As angle 5 stabs in Kali step left with a low pass and cut.
Vs Forehand Knife Swing

Toe dance to face 9:00 and Kali Scoop the knife with your right hand. As you turn to face 3:00, establish a horse stance in front of your opponent. (The following position is called the Two on One) Simultaneously Hook under their upper arm with your left arm and grab the back of your head. Also overhook their wrist with your right arm pinning their arm between your right arm and ribs. Then reap your left leg back against their right thigh to off balance them. Then turn sharply to your right to break their arm.

Grabbing the Wolf by the Ears
Jump your hips back to 6:00 as you execute a low two handed Tiger’s Mouth Block at their Wrist, then immediately close your grip around their wrist. Drive their arm across their centerline towards 3:00. Make sure you drive all of your weight into your grip in order to drive their hand towards the ground. As you drive your arms away from you, step up both your legs to stand in a Horse stance at a “T” to their stance. Transition to the Two on One Sequence as seen in Tumbling Clouds.
Vs Gun Pointed at your Face
Covering the Flame
Assuming the gun is between your raised hands. Shift your weight to your left leg and face 3:00 (Toe Dance). As you do so, grab the barrel of the gun with your left hand and push it towards 3:00 and slightly downward. Then turn toward your opponent punching the gun into their gut (ensure the barrel is still pointing towards 3:00). At the same time as the turn back, execute a right eye jab. Then grab the back of the gun with your right hand, palm up cradling where the hammer would be. (both hands should be on the gun at this point.) Keeping your hand close to your body, turn counterclockwise, think of dragging the muzzle of the gun from 12-6 along their sternum in order to strip the gun. Hold the gun at your waist as you create space.
Uncovering the Flame (high front gun, your hands up)
Assuming the gun is outside your raised hands. Shift your weight to your right leg and face 9:00 (Toe Dance). As you do so, grab the barrel of the gun with your left hand and push it towards 9:00 and slightly downward. Right eye jab, then swing your right hand to grab at the base of the Gun (where the Magazine Loads). Both hands should be on the gun at this point. Keeping your hand close to your body, turn clockwise to strip the gun. Hold the gun at your waist as you create space.

Right on right lead, Pac Sao, they block your right eye jab, Wedge your left finger jab under your arm and over their blocking arm. Right Pac Sao to clear their arm and eye jab

Execute Pulling Hand but they block the eye jab with a wrong block, cut block over with right eye jab.
Run and Bar
Execute Running hands but they outward block the palm heel hook. Double Jut Sao to Lan Sao with Eye Jab.

This movement is like Minor Outside Reap but on the far side leg and has the sweeping motion of Following Foot Sweep (Okuri Ahi Harai) The proper name for this throw is “Nidan Ko Soto Gari”.
